From October 2022, the new Interdepartmental Postgraduate Programme in the Department of Nursing and the Department of Speech and Language Therapy of the School of Health Sciences of the University of Peloponnese will start its operation. The Interdepartmental Postgraduate Programme entitled: "Care and Support of Children and Adolescents with Special Health Needs in the Community"
It aims to provide high quality education leading to a Master's degree in "Care and Support of Children and Adolescents with Special Needs in the Community". In particular, it is oriented towards the training and development of scientists with different focus and specialization in community health services, fully meeting the objectives and goals of the two departments of the School of Health Sciences of the University of Peloponnese.
The new interdepartmental postgraduate programme is the only one in Greece that focuses on the care and support of children and adolescents with the collaboration of the Departments of Nursing and Speech and Language Therapy of the School of Health Sciences of the University of Peloponnese.
Emphasis is placed on the following:
- General care of children and adolescents with special needs and special care with emphasis on Nursing and Speech and Language Therapy
- Holistic and interdisciplinary approach
- Psychoconononal support
- Counselling
- Special education
