Establishment of the Advisory Board of the Department of Speech and Language Therapy
By decision No. 5/3/12.12.2023, the General Assembly of the Department of Speech and Language Therapy established the Advisory Board of the Department, consisting of the following members:
- Konstantinos Saravelakis, Head of the Center for Educational and Counseling Support (KEDASY) of Messinia and President of the Board of Directors of the Autism Association of Messinia
- Ioanna Karamitri, Head of the Internal Audit Unit at the General Hospital of Messinia
- Aikaterini-Athanasia Giannakopoulou, Head of the Speech and Language Therapy Department at DIAPLASI Rehabilitation Center, former Laboratory Associate at the Technological Educational Institute (TEI) of Peloponnese
The role of the Advisory Board is consultative, with its primary aim being to support the continuous improvement of the Study Program and the overall development of the Department of Speech and Language Therapy. Its purpose is to ensure that students acquire scientific knowledge and professional skills that meet the modern demands of the speech and language therapy field, as well as the needs of the healthcare labor market.
The Department of Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) at the University of the Peloponnese (PAPEL) is committed to providing high-quality education to its students, in line with both the academic identity and orientation of its curriculum, as well as the established mission and strategic planning of PAPEL.
The Department's vision is to continue serving educational, research, and broader social goals, in collaboration with peers, universities from other countries, and community stakeholders. It remains dedicated to the principles of scientific ethics, accountability, sustainable development, and social cohesion.
Through regular evaluation and the ongoing refinement of its quality policy, the Department is committed to achieving even higher performance levels. In doing so, it actively contributes to PAPEL’s pursuit of high-quality teaching and research outcomes, which in turn support the steady advancement of science in the country.
